Q: Which Wiley X model is current issue to Australian Defence Forces?

Q: Which Wiley X styles are best for shooting?
The Wiley X Changeable Series are best suited for Shooting because you can change lenses for different scenarios and environments. The Smoke Grey & Clear Kits give you a tinted lens option for the outdoor range and in the field, and a clear lens for night or training at the indoor range. Q: Which Wiley X styles are best for work?

Q: Which Wiley X model is best to choose for the marine environment?
Polarised lenses are best for use when on the water as they reduce glare off the water and prevent eye fatigue and diminished vision.
Wiley X Filter 8TM Polarised lenses reduce glare off water and other light-coloured surfaces better than other polarised lenses available, and are better at filtering light which ensures high clarity and contrast.
Wiley X offer a large range of styles with Polarised lenses which are suitable for on-water activities including: WX Valor, WX Omega, WX Twisted, and WX Wave. All of these models are suitable for water sports or working in marine environments. SHOP POLARISED SERIES

Q: What safety standards do Wiley X eyewear meet? Are all the Wiley X sunglasses ANSI Z87.1 and EN.166 approved?
All Wiley X eyewear meets or exceeds the US ANSI Z87.1 standard protective eyewear test, and some of the frames the EN.166 which are the impact protection requirements.

Q. What does ANSI Z87.1 mean?
ANSI is an acronym for the American National Standards Institute. ANSI Z87.1 refers to the standard for personal Occupational and Educational Personal Eye and Face Protection Devices. These standards help ensure personal eye and face protection devices provide the necessary protection from impact, non-ionizing radiation, and liquid splash exposures.
Q. What is the difference between ANSI Z87.1 and EN.166?
EN-166 is the name of the European standard and ANSI Z87.1 is the American equivalent.
Q. What is AS/NZS 1337.1?
AS/NZS 1337.1 is the current Australian/NZ Standard for Occupational eye and face protection.
Q. What is the difference between ANSI Z87.1 and AS/NZS 1337.1?
AS/NZS 1337 is the equivalent Australian standard to the ANSI Z87.1 US standard.
Q: Are all the Wiley X sunglasses AS/NZS 1337.1 approved?
All Wiley X eyewear meets or exceeds the US ANSI Z87 standard protective eyewear test, which is the US equivalent to the Australian Standard AS/NZS 1337.1. However, only a selection of Wiley X models have been certified to Australian Standard AS/NZS 1337.1 at this stage.
Models currently certified to AS/NZS 1337.1 include:
WX Vapor, WX Valor, WX Rogue, Saber Advanced, Romer 3, XL-1 Advanced, WX Gravity, WX Wave, WX Omega, WX Twisted and Spear.

Q: Z87-2 is written in the temples. Is this the part number?
Z87-2 is not the Wiley X part number. Z87-2 is the American safety standard. Most of the Wiley X part numbers looks like SSREV1, ACZAK2 or CCJAK1.
TECHNICAL
Q: Can the Wiley X lenses be scratched?
Wiley X lenses are made polycarbonate. The polycarbonate material is in itself extremely strong, but also flexible. The material needs to be a little flexible to be able to withstand the strong ballistic tests we make on the models. When a material is "a little" flexible it can also be scratch, but to prevent this from happening we have coated all the lenses with T-shell system, plus an extra hard coating. This adds protection of the surface of the lenses and gives your eyewear a longer life.
Q: How does the Wiley X Facial Cavity Seal TM work?
There are various functions; Ventilation System – so when things heat up , the road remains clear, blocking out wind, fragments and peripheral light, all over full protection of your eye - also side wards.
Q: What can I do to make my LA (light adjusting) lenses last longer?
The LA lenses usually have a lifespan of about 2 years. Life may be extended by storing the sunglasses correctly. When you are not using the sunglasses Wiley X recommends that you keep them in the enclosed hard case because ageing of the lenses is caused by the UV radiation.

Q. How do I arrange to have my Wiley X fitted with prescription lenses?
Your Optometrist can arrange to have a prescription fitted to your Wiley X frame. Contact your Optometrist to discuss your requirements. Click here to find your nearest Optical Store for Wiley X.
Alternatively we can arrange the prescription for you. Simply email us your most recent prescription from your Optometrist, and let us know which frame you would like to have prescription lenses for. We will arrange a quote to make and fit prescription lenses to your preferred Wiley X frame.
Q. Are Prescription glasses Safety certified?

Q. What should I ask for when ordering prescription lenses from my Optometrist?
For impact protection, we recommend Polycarbonate lenses be used for Prescriptions lenses for Wiley X frames. CR39 (Plastic) or glass is not suitable.
Q. What type of prescription lenses are best for RX carriers?
We recommend Trivex or Polycarbonate lenses for Prescription lenses for RX carriers. CR39 (Plastic) or glass is not preferred for safety reasons.
Q: Can I order prescription lens direct from Wiley X Australia?
Wiley X Australia can supply prescription lenses in your choice of Wiley X frame. Click here for more information on how to order Prescription lenses.
Yes. Wiley X Australia are an approved Provider for most Health Funds and can provide a Tax Invoice for you to claim a rebate on your prescription purchase. If you are planning on claiming your purchase on a Health Fund, please check with us if your health fund is covered.
Q: Can I fit prescription lenses myself?
No. Your prescription lenses will need to be fitted to your frame by our lab or by your Optician. A shatterproof lens and frame can only be guaranteed when the lab mounts the prescription lenses in the frame.
Q: Will my Wiley X sunglasses still be interchangeable with prescription lenses?
Only the SG-1 is interchangeable with prescription lenses. Please note; Most Wiley X interchangeable models come with two set of lenses. You will NOT receive a second set of lenses with your prescription order.
Q: Can I only order the lens tint and coatings from original model when ordering prescription lens?
No, you may order the tint colour and coatings you prefer in your prescription order. You can discuss the options available with your optician when ordering.
Q: Which nose piece fits the RX Insert for the VAPOR sunglasses?
The Adjustable Nose Piece for Vapor (35NPA) is required to fit the Rx Insert to the VAPOR sunglasses. If you have been issued with VAPOR glasses with a fixed nose piece, you will need change to the Adjustable Nose Piece to fit the Rx insert. Adjustable Nose Piece for Vapor

Q: Who do you use to deliver my order?
Once processed, all orders are sent via Australia Post.
Q: Can I track my order?
Yes, the second your parcel is dispatched you will be sent an email containing your tracking details. This allows both you and us to track your parcels every move from our door to yours!
Please note that the tracking system on the package can be delayed up to 4 hours. If the delivery time takes longer than shown in our Terms & Conditions please contact Wiley X Australia.
Q: When can I expect delivery?
Delivery times may vary. Orders are processed and delivered during the business week (Monday – Friday) only and do not guarantee delivery by a specific date or time.
Q: Do I have to sign for my parcel?
Yes. A signature is required for deliveries.
Q: What if I'm unable to sign for my parcel?
If you will not be at the shipping address to accept delivery of your product, consider shipping the item to an address where someone who can act as your agent will be available to sign for your package. Once your order has been prepared for shipment or has shipped, we are unable to change the shipping address.
If no one is available to accept delivery at the address provided, Australia Post will return the package to the local Post Office for collection.

Q: Does Wiley X Australia sell the Harley-Davidson range of Wiley X eyewear?
No. Wiley X Australia does not stock the Harley Davidson range of Wiley X eyewear. The Harley-Davidson range of eyewear and accessories can only be purchased from a Harley-Davidson dealer.
