Why choose an eyewear model with an RX Carrier instead of having the prescription in the primary lens?
If you need prescription lenses, choosing a Wiley X model with an RX carrier can give you some advantages compared to models where the prescription is built directly into the frame (full frame design).
-
Suitable for wide prescription range
-
Easier and cheaper to replace an outer lens which has no prescription
-
Up to 5 different front lens colour options - allowing you to adjust to any given light condition
-
Remains certified as safety eyewear
-
Carriers compatible with different models (see below)
RX carriers can be fitted with Single Vision lenses only. RX carriers are not suitable for Progressive lenses, bi-focal or multi-focal lenses, as there is not enough depth in the lens to accommodate a progressive prescription.
Prescription lenses for RX carriers should be made with a Polycarbonate lens only. Materials such as CR-39, or similar, are not suitable as they could chip or shatter and offer less impact protection.
We recommend Anti-fog coating with all RX insert prescriptions as they are being worn behind the primary lens.
The 35RXA RX carrier can be used in the following models: VAPOR and Spear.
The PTX RX carrier can be used in the following models: SABER Advanced, ROGUE, PT-1, Nerve, and SPEAR.
